Raw Meat Issue of the Day - Open Thread

Here's a big old chunk of partially-digested surfer for you all:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton compared Nigeria’s corruption and electoral problems with the 2000 Florida presidential election recount during a town hall meeting today in Abuja, Nigeria.

Answering a question about Nigeria’s recent election, Clinton said, “In 2000, our presidential election came down to one state where the brother of the man running for President was the governor of the state. So we have our problems too.”

I love it when our elected officials do things to undermine the public's confidence in our electoral process. Dont' you?

  1. Hillary is having a bad week.

First she snaps at someone about how she is the Secretary of State, not her husband (turns out the translation was wrong, and it was supposed to be a question about Obama), and now this.

Though I don't doubt that the fact that Florida wasn't 100% controlled by Democrats in 2000 was a problem for them...that much she got right.

  2. I almost think she was doing it on purpose.

"Send me out of town when Health Care reform is being discussed, will you? Well, I'll show you!"

  3. LOL - could be. I wonder what she thinks of Obama. Seriously. I'll bet she thinks he's a total screw up.

She'll never say it, but I'll bet that's what she's thinking...and she's probably thinking, "I should be president! ME! THAT SHOULD BE ME!!!"
